MHJ Traded to Texans

The Arizona Cardinals made a not-so-surprising move of trading wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr. to the Houston Texans. The news broke early Saturday that the Cardinals were finalizing a deal but no team revealed at the time. Sunday, after the Texans win over the Tennessee Titans it was officially announced that Harrison was officially traded. Arizona sent Harrison and a 2027 7th round pick to Houston in exchange for a 2027 2nd round and 6th round pick.

The Arizona Cardinals sent a signal their rebuild is in full effect. Harrison was taken by the Cardinals with the 4th overall pick in 2024. He had showed a lot of potential his rookie year, but his numbers have dropped and this season showed little hope for improvement. The guy who once had 885 receiving yards his rookie year, has only put up 5 catches for 85 yards this season, a pace to set him on a very underwhelming season. Clips have been going around the internet, showing his   effortless performances week-to-week, with fans and critics questioning what was going on with the young wide receiver.

The Houston Texans get a receiver to an unproven wide receiver room in addition to a possible solution to other problems. The Texans have been dealing with injuries to their wide receivers: Jayden Higgins out for the year with a torn ACL, Tank Dell recovering from a broken kneecap suffered n in 2024 and Nico Collins in and out the lineup with hamstring issues. They did acquire Keyshon Boutte from the New England Patriots to address this but so far the results have been underwhelming. MHJ comes in with the intention of being an extra target in the passing  game but also a pseudo number one in the event Collins is hurt. He also will be reunited with his former Ohio State teammate and QB, in CJ Stroud, whom he shared the field  with in 2022. Their familiarity could provide some more explosiveness to this offense, fueling more offensive success for this Texans team that has been experiencing a slow start.

Reacting to 49ers Close Win

The San Francisco 49ers beating the Seattle Seahawks seems like there was more to this game than final score. The 49ers pulled off a close victory in what times looked more like a dominant performance , depending on the angle you looked at. Defensively, San Fran had 5 sacks and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. The benefit of this score was 49ers defensive tackle Gracen Halton who recovered the ball inn the end zone after the Seattle Seahawks fumbled right before halftime. Possibly, the highlighted stat line of the game belongs to Niners wide receiver Mike Evans who had 7 catches for 113 yards a touchdown and a candidate for meme of the year.

Even if it’s Wek 5, the San Francisco 49ers have made a statement win, specifically for the eyes of the Seattle Seahawks. Last season in the divisional round of the playoffs, the San Francisco came to Seattle and got drudged from start to finish literally. The Seahawks kicked things off with a kickoff return for a TD and kicked the 49ers off their field. Aside from the score, it felt like a reverse result. The defense had 4 sacks in the first half alone, then Evans had his performance. The one thing that screwed up for the Niners are the 2 turnovers – an interception and a fumble – in the 3rd quarter  that kept them from gaining momentum at the time. However, the 49ers were able to regroup and take control of the 4th quarter, starting with QB Brock Purdy throwing his 2nd TD of the game to wide receiver Branding Cooks. San Francisco remains undefeated n the challenging NFC West at this time, but this win should let their division know, as well as outside of the division, that this team is probably going to be a lot to deal with, much more than previous years.

Bills vs Rams: Future Super Bowl?

The Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams put on an absolute show on Monday Night And it could be the first of their . The bills beat the Rams 37-34 in overtime in the Rams stadium, Sofi stadium which is the site of this season’s Super Bowl. Both teams ought all the way to the end trading scores in the 4th quarter. That quarter started out with a 20-19 lea by the Rams and ended up being tied at 34 at the end of regulation. In overtime, both teams traded offensive blows and mistakes. Bills running back James Cook fumbled the ball to set up the Rams for a potential game winning field goal drive. However, Rams kicker Harold Mevis missed his 3rd field goal of the night to put the ball back in the Bills’ hands which led them to the actual game winning field goal.

This game was everything out imagined it could be for stars on both teams. The QB’s for the Bills and the Rams both showed off their strengths through their own game. Buffalo QB Josh Alen had a modest day passing with 210 yards, a passing and rushing TD, as well as an interception. However,  what he lacked in the passing game, he made up for it with 152 yards rushing. Speaking of rushing, Bills running back James Cook assisted with 11 rushing yards of his own. Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw for 383 yards and 3 touchdowns. /Two of those touchdowns happened during the 4th quarter shootout and were elivered to Rams wide receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Puka had 17 catches for 138 yards while Adams added the scores to his 3 catches for 51 yards.

This game would be a dream matchup for the upcoming Super Bowl. You have 2 teams led by quarterbacks that have different styles but dynamic in their own right. Also, playmakers on both teams to keep things in perspective. What really made this game feel like it was a cinematic preview were the mistakes made on each team. The Bills’ 2 turnovers were because Allen’s reckless behavior generated an interception and Cook fumbled the ball in overtime. For the Rams, Mevis missed 2 field goals including the potential game winner. Aside from that, these 2 teams have bigger fish in playoff sea. The Bills have yet to face the Kansas City Chiefs, who have always been a thorn in their side in the regular season and playoffs. The Rams are sitting at 2-3 with this loss, also 3rd in the NFC West behind the Seattle Sehawks and San Francisco 49ers. Even though the Super Bowl is in their stadium, where they last won a title, there are so many obstacles stacked against them to return, whether it’s injuries or simply playing in this division. Still, a fan could only dream and saa a part of that wish happen on Monday night.

Embarrassed by the Cowboys?

Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys received a review of their performance. A clip is going viral of an ATT Stadium employee saying “embarrassing” as Dallas cowboys QB Dak Prescott walked by. This was following a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were winless entering the game, but obviously left with a victory. A lot of talk has been surrounding the clip but t adds to the dramatization that is the Dallas Cowboys, which should be embarrassing of itself, but the fans are used to the antics. However, n terms of the game itself, the Cowboys have nothing to be proud of. No only did they lose to a winless team at home, but they did so with Tampa Bay having an drafted rookie backup QB; a lot of words for saying the Buccaneers had no business having a chance of winning this game. However, it was Bucs running back Bucky Irving led the way with 21 carries for 165 yards including a 72 yard run in the 3rd quarter, which generated a hilarious highlight of the Cowboys defense for social media. So yes, the employee might have been unprofessional but the same can be said from fans regarding the Cowboys’ play that night.

Shoutouts/Shutouts

Shout out Mike Evans for playing  the guessing game? In Sunday’s win over the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans got into a small verbal match with Seahawks cornerback Trevon Diggs. During the exchange , Evans turns Diggs to look on the back of his jersey, apparently to see who he was talking to. It was a moment that quickly went viral online but could not overshadow the thrilling win from the Niners.

Shut out to the Washington Commanders for time mismanagement. The Commanders were in overtime against the New York Giants, driving down the field and got to the Giants’ 25 yard lime with 50 seconds left in the game. However, instead of running the clock to an appropriate time to set up a field goal, the Commanders subbed players then lined up at the snap at 18 seconds left, only to run a play for 14 yards but fail to secure to spike the ball and stop the clock. Who knows what they had on their mind in that moment but they never think it again. That missed opportunity resulted in a tie for that game.

Week 6 is here kicking off with an intriguing matchup. The Seattle Seahawks visit the Denver Broncos in a big Thursday Night Football matchup. Seahawks suffered that loss to the 49ers and looking to correct their mistakes and will have to do against a Broncos team correcting their offensive mistakes. Denver recently switched their play calling duties from offensive coordinator Davis Webb to head coach Sean Payton. Broncos will look to replicate this experiment against a better opponent, coming off their win against the Los Angeles Chargers. But until then…I’ll holla.
