Bubble Busted: NBA Players and Fans Express their Thoughts on Bubble Life

The NBA is supposed to resume its season at the end of the month in a bubble but could be interrupted by the bubble guts. Plenty of players from teams in the league’s restart have been vocal about the conditions they are experiencing in an around the places they are staying at as they gear up for the finishing of the 2019-2020 season. To fully capture the moment of how things may, or may not, be in the near future, Memphis Grizzlies star Tyus Jones posted a photo to his Instagram of an unexpected visitor in his hotel room:

According to Total Pro Sports, the Grizzlies are staying at the Grand Floridian Hotel, in addition to other teams such as the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers. With all these teams staying in these places there is sure to be more expression of how players are adjusting to their temporary surroundings:

The league, players and fans had to know that if this season was going to come back, it would be at a huge cost in normalcy. These players are used to a certain luxury when going on road games, which includes a particular quality in food and a standard for rest. However, with the league probably losing a lot of money from canceled games and trying to maintain safety of the teams amongst a global pandemic, they are doing the best they can without having to resort throwing away the season altogether. And while there have been suggestions from fans and players alike to cancel the rest of the season – amid health concerns and to address social injustices – the league is going to side with those fans seeking closure to another season and eager to fill the void of sports that has been occupied high profile team changes and fall out surrounding The Last Dance documentary. The NBA Restart will run from July 30 all the way to no later than October 13, so the players will get used to the food and living spaces, unless they find a way to get eliminated through the seeding games and early playoff rounds.
