Bullheaded: Week 8

The Houston Texans are coming off an embarrassing 27-9 loss against the Denver Broncos but the shame has continued afterwards. Criticism of quarterback Brock Osweiler’s 2016 campaign has risen greatly. Osweiler and the Texans have come under fire for the $72 million contract he signed in the offseason and the performance that has followed after. That reasoning is supported by numbers that might prompt the team to look for a for a receipt.

As it stands now, Osweiler has thrown for 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions with a 71.9 QB rating. Despite the team going 4-3 after 7 games and leading the AFC South, Osweiler’s QB play has them in a dangerous position to lose ground in their division. The question now becomes whether or not he should be benched now or sometime down the line if his play does not improve.

But that is a question that will be answered this Sunday when the Texans take on the Detroit Lions. While the defense will be focused on slowing down the Lions’ passing attack with Matthew Stafford at the helm, all eyes will be focused on Osweiler as he could fighting for his job.
